Scope
What certification actually covers.
Certification decisions are scope-specific: they describe exactly which workflows, entities and jurisdictions were reviewed, and they do not extend automatically to workflows or entities outside that scope.
Timelines and process
What to expect from application to decision.
Review timelines depend on how quickly evidence is produced and how many findings require corrective action; the how-it-works page describes the stages in order.
Pricing approach
How pricing is approached, without a public price list.
Pricing depends on scope, industry and the number of workflows reviewed, so a single public number would misrepresent most applicants' actual cost; a scoped quote is provided directly during application.
Ongoing obligations
What happens after certification is granted.
Certification is not a one-time event; continuous monitoring and corrective-action tracking apply for as long as the certification is active.
FAQ
Questions we hear often
- What exactly does 'certified' mean for my business?
- It means the specific scope of workflows, entities and jurisdictions listed on your certification record were reviewed against the published standards and no unresolved critical or major findings remained at the time of decision.
- How long does certification review typically take?
- It depends on your evidence readiness and the number of findings that require correction; the how-it-works page outlines each stage in order so you can estimate against your own timeline.
- How is pricing determined?
- Pricing is scoped to the workflows, industry and jurisdictions being reviewed rather than a flat public rate, because review effort varies significantly by scope. A quote is provided directly once your application scope is defined.
- Is certification a one-time review or an ongoing relationship?
- Ongoing. Certified organizations are subject to continuous monitoring and must maintain evidence for the workflows in scope; certification can be suspended if material changes are not disclosed.
- Can I use the ScriptClear badge as soon as I apply?
- No. Badge use is permitted only once a certification decision has been issued, and only for the specific scope stated in that decision. See the badge-use policy for exact usage terms.
- What happens if a reviewer finds something during monitoring?
- It is classified using the same finding severity levels used at initial review and tracked as a corrective action; certification status depends on whether it is resolved within the applicable timeframe.
- Can I appeal a finding or a decision I disagree with?
- Yes. The appeals process describes how to contest a specific finding or decision, and appeals are not decided by the reviewer who issued the original finding.
- What if someone files a complaint about my certified organization?
- Complaints are received and evaluated under a defined process described on the complaints page; not every complaint results in a finding, but each is documented and assessed.
- What data do you collect from applicants during review?
- Evidence submitted for review — documents, screenshots, intake walkthroughs and written responses — is collected and retained under the practices described in the privacy policy and security page.
- Do you share applicant data with third parties?
- Only as described in the privacy policy, primarily to operate the review and hosting infrastructure itself; certification decisions and scope are the only information made public.
- Is certification recognized by any specific regulator, bank or platform?
- No. ScriptClear certification reflects conformity with the published ScriptClear standards. Third parties such as regulators, banks, and advertising or payment platforms make their own independent eligibility and enforcement decisions.
- What happens if my certification is suspended?
- Suspension terms, notice requirements and reinstatement conditions are described on the suspension page; suspension is distinct from revocation and each has its own criteria.
- Does certification apply automatically to new locations or services I add later?
- No. Certification is scope-specific; adding a new workflow, entity or jurisdiction requires that scope to be reviewed before it is covered by your certification.
